Bulk Soft Drinks in the UAE: Oasis Sparkling by the Carton for Restaurants, Caterers and Events

Each carton holds 24 cans of 350ml of a single flavour. Cartons stack 100 to a pallet, which is the figure to use when costing pallet space or a container rather than a shelf. Oasis Sparkling is a carbonated fruit-flavoured soft drink. It contains no fruit juice and no colour, it is sweetened with sugar together with sweeteners, and it carries a preservative. It is not sparkling water and is not presented as one. Every flavour is caffeine free.

The seven flavours are mango, strawberry, blueberry, green apple, lychee, peach and lime. Most trade customers begin with two of them:

There is no universal figure for cans per guest, and any supplier who quotes one is guessing on your behalf. The order should be derived from your own service. Three inputs decide it: the number of guests, the length of time drinks are served, and whether the cans are the only cold option or one of several.

1. Set the servings per guest you intend to provide, and record the figure so it can be checked against the empties afterwards.
2. Multiply by the guest count. A reception for 300 guests at two cans each requires 600 cans, which is 25 cartons. A corporate gathering of 80 at one can each requires 80 cans, which is four cartons with a small margin.
3. Divide the cartons across flavours in the order guests choose them: strawberry and mango first, lime for those who prefer a sharper drink, then one carton of a flavour chosen for the table, such as blueberry.
4. Hold one carton unopened as a reserve. An unopened carton keeps for twelve months, so the reserve is never lost.

Caterers who serve the same client repeatedly keep the per-guest figure from the first engagement and refine it. That record is more reliable than any industry average.

On 1 January 2026 the UAE replaced the flat excise on sweetened drinks with a tiered model based on sugar content per 100ml. The Federal Tax Authority sets three categories: high sugar, at 8 g or more per 100ml, taxed at AED 1.09 per litre; moderate, from 5 g up to 8 g; and low, below 5 g, at zero. Drinks sweetened only with artificial sweeteners, or with sweeteners and less than 5 g of sugar per 100ml, are also at zero. A drink without an approved certificate is treated as high sugar until a laboratory report establishes otherwise, and producers, importers and stockpilers obtain that certificate through the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (Federal Tax Authority, 29 December 2025).

For a buyer the consequence is practical. The sugar band a drink is certified in now accounts for a visible part of its per-can cost, so when comparing suppliers in 2026, ask which category each product was certified in and request the certificate. On the figures in our own certificate of analysis, the Oasis Sparkling range falls below the 5 g per 100ml threshold. The category applied to any product is determined by the certificate its importer files, not by an article, and buyers should treat it accordingly.

• Shelf life. Twelve months from production, stored at ambient temperature in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. A stockroom that heats through the summer is what quietly shortens that date. Keep cartons away from a sunlit wall and rotate stock so the oldest carton is always the one opened next.
• Chilling. Serve the product properly cold. A warm carbonated drink tastes thin and sweet. Load the refrigerators the evening before an event rather than on the morning.
• Menu placement. The range sells fastest alongside food that is spicy, salted or fried, where the acidity and carbonation clear the palate between bites. Grills, shawarma counters and spicy noodle kitchens are where it moves.
• Pallets. One hundred cartons to a pallet, the figure to use when costing a container or a storeroom.
